Classes from S.1 to S.3 are designated Blue (B), Green (G), Maroon (M) and White (W). Students used to be assigned to these classes depending on their academic abilities. B being considered those with the greatest academic potential  followed by G, then M and finally W.

However note that this assignment is essentailly not intended to make students feel superior or inferior amongst one another. Often times, students move in between these classifications depending on their performance in the preceeding term.  However amongst the students, it is a sense of pride to be a "B" fellow (well, teenagers are always seeking identity) and every student is fighting for that; the competitive KCB academic spirit

Example; First term a student may be in B and then next term he is in G, he then bounces back to B or further "downgrades" to M and viceversa.

S.4 candidates are grouped according to their final 10 subject combinations and not on academic abilities.

Class rooms at KCB are not assigned on apermanent basis. Depending on the need,  students will occupy different classrooms from time to time.

However ,some patterns do exist. Classrooms designated as Room 1 to Room 4  block are mostly available to the S.4 candidate class. (The fromt of this block usually acts as the weekly Monday morning main assembly ground).

Rooms 8 to Room 12 are usually for the A' Level class (Rooms 8-10; Science class and Rooms 11-12; Arts class).

Rooms 14 to 17 are for the junior classess, mainly S.2's. The S.1's commonly occupy rooms 18 to

The "mysterious" Room 13, is part of Room 8, which acts as classroom for the small A'Level Agriculture class; comprising of about 5-8 students.

All classrooms are "mushroomed" in the centre of the school compound.
