Kiira college Butiki was started in 1959 as a junior secondary school, by the Busoga Lukiko during the reign of the HRH the kyabazinga Henry Wako Muloki.The first headmaster was Mr.Arthur Nyanga(R.I.P)
IN 1962 the senior secondary section started under the headship of Mr Robert Harold who administered the school until 1970.
in 1965 the school was taken over by the central government and it was the same year that it presented its first S4 students for the Cambridge certificate(o level)
in 1981,A level section was introduced for both Arts and science subjects under the headship of John Isabirye.From that year,KCB was therefore designated as an A level Boys Boarding school.
On 19th Feb 2001,Mr john Richard retired after 28 years of service as teacher,deputy headteacher and headmaster at Kiira college butiki.He handed over the school to Mr Daudi H mulongo who headed the school up to 24th may 2011 when he was transferred and subsequently handed over to Mr Daniel Douglas Kaima
The school's motto is "Discipline and Hard work"
